On Monday when we arrived in New York the first event we went to was VLOV Richard Wu fashion show, I didn't know what designer he was. His line was for men, overall his line was nice and the male models were sooo good looking!
We learned so much, from the meaning of the penny inserted in each of Anthony Luciano's hand made bags to the recreating of real models to make mannequins at Adel Rootstein's.
We were informed of the buying business behind the TJX Companies to the making and designing of Kenneth Cole shoes.
We were able to experience what was behind the closet of the history of Tommy Hilfiger and his lines to where the embroidery for the rockette outfits were done in Penn & Fletcher.
We learned how the Fashion Snoops website worked which was interesting. Also, we went to the building where all the designers from Project Runway buy their fabric and materials to make their outfits during the show.
My two favorite experiences were going to Tiger J which produces clothing lines to QVC and Kleinfeld Bridal where the show Say Yes To The Dress is filmed. Seeing all the beautiful wedding dresses definitely causes some wedding bells to ring in my head.
Going to New York City for fashion week is an experience you will never forget. It allows you to retain so much information as well as be able to establish some connections with people in the fashion industry. If you are interested in fashion or fashion business I would definitely recommend this trip.
