Expensive is not always better

Sean Cormier, a professor at F.I.T's textile lab tested eleven pairs of tights in three days. This is what he found:

 

The thicker the tights' fabric the more it will keep you warm. He measured the fabric weight and found that  Kate Spade's tights are the ones you want to wear when the weather is cold. Forever 21 and Fogal tights are not what you want to be wearing in the cold. 

 When it comes to buying tights that will last for a long period of time Commando, Duane Reade, Wolford, Topshop, Kate Spade, and Urban Outfitters are the ones you want to buy. But Fogal and Forever 21 tights' get "pill balls" and look rattier in a short amount of time. 

You want your tights to be able to stretch and recover. Wolford, Commando, Duane Reade, Topshop  have a 95% recovery rate and Hue, DKNY, Urban Outfitters have a 80% recovery rate. You'll have baggy knees if the fabric has a high stretch and low recovery.  

So choose your tights wisely!!
